CONTEST REVIEWS
Why Teachers & Students Love
the Thomas Edison Pitch Contest
We are committed to educating the next generation of great innovators. Our contest provides students with the scientific resources it takes to explore the world through invention, that they wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to create themselves. Our goal is to help bring STEM resources as well as an entrepreneurial drive to inspire students from all different backgrounds to not only invent to improve technology, but invent to change the world. Win or lose, teachers come back year after year to provide hands-on experience and entrepreneurial spirit to their students. Here are some reasons why:
I loved that the Thomas Edison Pitch contests encourages students to solve real world problems using STEM.

Thank you very much for all that you and the rest of the Edison Pitch Contest do for the kids. Many of these students don't have another outlet to showcase their true abilities, and this contest gives them that outlet. These moments will resonate with them for a lifetime.

"Thank you for the opportunity that led to this team growing as collaborators, leaders, deep-thinkers, creators, composers and evaluators! The harshness of the distance learning has been softened by having this project available to them. They have led the way in setting up meetings, brainstorming, assigning research, writing, and editing."
2020 TEACHER MENTOR
"The Thomas Edison Pitch Contest has been our silver lining in our distance learning. The students have been able to stay engaged in this long term project. They have stated that it provides a sense of "normalcy" in their day. This has given us an excuse to check in with each other, face to face, almost every day. The students even asked to meet on Saturdays!"
2020 TEACHER MENTOR
“This project allowed our environmental club to work hands-on with what we are passionate about. Students were highly engaged. We will use [the stipend] towards our environmental club to help with fundraisers and promote environmental conservation. Thank you!"
2019 TEACHER MENTOR
“My students worked non-stop for months on this design that took them through developing a product, researching what exists and using the research to further develop their idea, creating videos, portfolios, a presentation, and an actual product. All of this work and effort is impressive and greatly appreciated. Every year, I always hope to find this type of dedication and independence in students to share these competitive moments with."
